Boonsborough Museum of History

Nestled in the heart of downtown Boonsboro is a place referred to as "the Smithsonian in miniature". The Douglas G. Bast Museum of History and Preservation is both weird and wonderful. Every square inch of its two floors are full of historical gems. The original John Brown pike tacked to the ceiling. Classic relics of saints like Saint Francis and Elizabeth Seton. Priceless pieces of china and pottery. Civil War artifacts such as a sharpshooter's rifle from the Battle of Gettysburg, the Bible from the U.S. provost marshal's office kissed by 10,000 confederates as they swore their allegiance back to the U.S., an amazing collection of carved bullets and even a severed arm.
