We are a small family farm located south of Westminster, MD, about an hour west of Baltimore. Our land was the nucleus of a much larger tract that has been worked for over 200 years. The original land-grant, Upper Marlboro, was deeded in 1763 by Lord Baltimore to Robert Gilchrist. The first cabin was built before 1798. We have been working to restore our small ten acre parcel since 1983 when my husband and I moved to Westminster. Over the years we have renovated the original log cabin, stabilized the bank barn, cleared fence lines, built new fence, built a shop and on and on. Hill Farm is home to Norwegian Fjord Ponies, Leicester Longwool sheep, various birds, dogs, cats, and chickens.
