PAINTED PASTURES is a beautiful 12-acre farm in Smithsburg. It is a little piece of heaven where flowers bloom and visitors are greeted by friendly Nigerian Dwarf goats. Owner Lori Anderson raises her goats for their rich milk which she uses to make soaps, lotions, balms, sugar scrubs and bath bombs. These goat milk personal care products are naturally emollient and come in a wide variety of colors and fragrances. Lori also raises and sells fresh cut flowers. The Farm store is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and is filled with these products and many unique and one-of-a-kind pieces from other local artisans. During the spring and summer months, she runs a roadside flower stand at the end of her driveway.
