Visit Houser's Produce Farm on Shaffer Road, nearby to purchase fruits and vegetables in season and ask about locally raised Beef, which we recommend from StoneWall Angus, on Spielman Road. Our farm participates in CREP and exercises "Best Practices" for agriculture within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed; all cattle are fenced out of streams and buffers exist to capture nutrients and maintain good water quality. Our lands drain directly into the Potomac River through Marsh Run/St James Run tributaries. Our forested areas are managed with plans approved by Dept Nat Resources/MD Forest Service.
