Town of Somerset

Welcome to the Town of Somerset, Maryland! We are a small community in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Somerset has a long history, dating back to the 1800s when it was primarily farmland. In the past 125+ years, our Town has undergone a significant transformation, both in development and in our residents. Somerset is represented by a Mayor and five-person elected Town Council who govern the Town, and a small staff, supported by several contractors to ensure the provision of a variety of services to our residents. Our town motto is, “Where people and trees have deep roots and grow strong."
